The U.S. Small Business Administration’s 7(a) Loan program can be quite profitable, but it is not without its risks and misconceptions. The 7(a) Loan program can help its participants mitigate their credit risk, increase profits, and most importantly, serve their small business community. Compliance with SBA regulations is mandatory to insure success and profitability in the program. This is the first webinar in a three part series on Mastering the SBA 7(a) Loan, which will guide participants through the life of an SBA loan, and provide insight that will insure a better understanding of what it takes to make a 7(a) loan. This first webinar will give an overview of the SBA 7(a) loan program and the requirements to become a participant. It will provide step by step instructions for determining eligibility of a prospective new loan, and offer tips on underwriting. Participants will receive an overview of the SBA loan application and approval process, and pitfalls to avoid will be point out along the way. ABOUT THE PRESENTER – Kimberly Rayer, Starfield & Smith, PC
Kimberly Rayer is a partner in the law firm Starfield & Smith, PC, where she concentrates on commercial lending, contracts, and corporate law. Kimberly has extensive experience representing commercial lenders in connection with government guaranteed lending, commercial financing, and other secured transactions. She is admitted to practice before the Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey and the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. In addition, she is a member of the American Bar Association and the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL), and has presented and written numerous articles on SBA lending for both regional and national trade organizations. She received a BS from Drexel University and a JD from the James E. Beasley School of Law, Temple University.
